Longwood for the Day

You don't always have to go far to have an adventure. We ventured over to Longwood today to check out the Sweetwater Wekiva Farmers Market before exploring some more. I will say the market was a little sparse today but then again it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We spoke with a guy that filled us in that this market was started by the same people that started the Winter Garden Farmers Market. With that being said it should go up from here. Nicest people, just not a lot out there today.

Next up - Big Tree Park The Senator was burned by a crazy meth-head back in 2012 but at least they could save just a little of the tree as well as plant some seedlings and try to clone the tree.

The remains of The Senator.

Lady Liberty still stands. She's a mere 2000 years old.

Time for the playground where we ALL act like kiddos.

But now the fun! Time for Hourglass Brewery and a nice flight.

Just look at that oh so beautiful Imperial Stout. That's good stuff right there!

Check it out. Make a day of it. Grab some Wako Taco or some Papa Bee's wings and bring them over to the brewery to eat. Good stuff, I'm telling you. You won't be disappointed.

Hidden Gem in Howey-in-the-Hills

Yep, there's a city in Lake County named Howey-in-the-Hills. It's a quant little town but they have the best little market out there... the Howey Market.

So I was out that way for a training/meeting and my co-worker, Donna, told me about this market. Sold. If I can get out for a lunch adventure, I'm in!

Need a kitschy gift? Check!

Need a great selection of craft beer? Check!!

What about wine? Check!
Delicious deli sandwiches? Oh yeah! Check!
Healthy snacks? Check!
Interesting soda selection? Check!
Fresh from the farm eggs and produce? Uh huh! Check!
Wooden puzzles? Yep, that too! Check!
Wonderfully, friendly staff? Check!
This place is a hidden gem. Check it out and see for yourself. Grab a sandwich and go across the way and picnic by the water. And find them on Facebook! They share sandwich specials and rare beers that they have in stock. Good stuff, I'm telling you!
